Chinchilla Diet

• Chinchillas eat chinchilla pellets. They have different nutritional requirements than rabbits or guinea pigs. Even though rabbit and guinea pig pellets look the same they are not acceptable for long term use.
• Fresh water is a must. I use a water bottle mounted on the outside of their cage.
• I supplement the chinchilla pellets with alfalfa hay cubes or a high quality loose hay.
• Treats can include dried fruit, peanuts, and raw pasta. I recommend only one or two treats per day.
